Transport and Care of Children Away from Club Premises (at other venues)

Parents give permission for children to participate in competitions, training and other events through the completion of the Junior Player Profile Form which is completed as part of the membership process.  Necessarily some of these take place away from Club premises at other venues (e.g. away matches).

The Club, through the Junior Co-ordinator, will communicate details of matches and training sessions to the Parents/Carers of all junior members at the earliest opportunity.  This will include times, dates, venues, directions and special arrangements (if required).

The Team Manager or Coach will ensure that Parents/Carers are made aware of drop off and collection points and times at the other venue prior to the match or training session and will communicate any changes that may arise promptly.

It is not the responsibility of the Team Manager or Coach to transport, or arrange to transport, the children to and from the other venue.

Parents/Carers are responsible for notifying the Team Manager and Coach of any unusual arrangements for the drop off or collection of their child (for example if different people are dropping off and collecting).

Upon arrival at the notified drop off point at the other venue Parents/Carers must ensure that the Team Manager or Coach is aware of the arrival of their child(ren) at which point the Team Manager or Coach accepts responsibility for the child(ren).  Parents/Carers must inform the Team Manager or Coach if they will not be staying at the other venue for the duration of the visit.

The Team Manager must ensure that they have a written copy of the relevant emergency contact details and any medical information with them during the away trip, for all children who are taking part in the trip for whom they have a duty of care

In the event that there is a problem with the collection the Parents/Carers must notify the Team Manager or Coach as soon as possible and agree alternative arrangements with them.  Parents/Carers must remember that the Team Manager or Coach is under no obligation to transport children at any time.

This policy applies to open age group teams where one or more players are under the age of 18.

The Club does not envisage any trips where one or more players are under the age of 18 (including open age groups) that will include an overnight stay.  Should this occur specific arrangements relating to the safeguarding of children approved by the Club Welfare Officers will be made and communicated in writing to Management Committee members and all those involved in the trip (including Parents/Carers).
