Code of Conduct: Parents and Carers

Posted by Stuart Rudkin on 08/12/2016 17:38

The Club will work closely with parents/carers to ensure that all matches and practice sessions are conducted safely and in the spirit of cricket.

Parents and carers are asked to work with and support team managers and coaches in a number of ways –

  • encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them
  • encourage your child to avoid unfair play and respect opponents, umpires and officials
  • help your child recognise good performance and not just results
  • support your child’s involvement and help them enjoy their sport
  • recognise that playing cricket is about enjoyment and encourage your child to play at all times in the spirit of cricket
  • never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes
  • set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performance of all
  • accept officials’ judgements
  • use correct and proper language at all times
