Junior News w/c 22/04/2017

Posted by Stuart Rudkin on 21/04/2017 12:15

Welcome to the first Junior News of te 2017 season.  The aim is to publish a short note of upcoming activity each week throughout the season to keep everybody up to date.

Saturday 22 April - Senior cricket season begins with several juniors playing for the 2nd and 3rd XI.  The 1st Xi are at home so why not come along to support them and have a look at our brand new electronic scoreboard.

Sunday 23rd April - Kwik cricket practice from 10am.  Several youngsters are playing in the Derbyshire Dales District Under 15 match against Derby City.

Tuesday 25th April - Senior practice from 6pm.  Junior players aged 13 and over are welcome and encouraged to attend as part of their development towards playing senior cricket.

Thursday 27th April - Junior hardball practice for all age groups U11 to U15 from 6:15pm.  This is the last chance to practice as league fixtures start the week after.   The first outdoor Academy session will also take place in two groups (6-7pm and 7-8pm).  Stu will be in touch

Next is a remindeer that annual subscriptions are now due.  We woudl prefer payment to be made directly into our bank account (email/text Stu or Simon if you need these details).  Its £25 for the first child and £20 for siblings.  However if your child is aged 8 or under it may be better for you to register for the All Stars Cricket programme so speak to Stu before making a payment.

Finally, please make a note in your diaries that the Third annual WADFest music festival will be held on Sunday 28th April featuring a number of local bands.  We are planning to move the kwik practice session to 4:30pm that day and wouold like to encourage you all to hang around afterwards for some of the music.  There will be a BBQ operating and, of course the bar will be open for business.

All we need now is loads of sunshine so join me in crossing my fingers!
